The Fairfield Arts Council is excited to announce that teen pop-rock group Kicking Daisies will be performing a benefit concert for the organization on Friday, December 3, 2010 at the Fairfield Theatre Company. The proceeds of the show will go to the Fairfield Arts Council, and towards the creation of a new teen music center for the town. Having attained musical skills far beyond their years, Kicking Daisies is currently featured as finalists for Radio Disney’s “N.B.T. (Next Big Thing).
Tickets for the December 3rd concert are $10 each, and available for purchase through the Fairfield Theatre Company, online at www.fairfieldtheatre.org or by calling the box office at 203-259-1036. The venue is located at 70 Sanford Street, Fairfield, CT.
Two-time Grammy Award-winning music producer Michael Mangini, who has worked with Joss Stone and the Jonas Brothers and now produces Kicking Daisies said, “We are very excited to be working with the Fairfield Arts Council towards the creation of a space dedicated to the youth music scene here in Fairfield. When we were looking to get the project off the ground the Fairfield Arts Council was the logical place to go. This event is a sort of homecoming for the band, as they played their first major show at the Fairfield Theatre Company in March of this year. In just six months, the band has really hit it big.”
“We couldn’t be more pleased to be working with Kicking Daisies and Michael Mangini,” said Kristin Fox, Executive Director of the Fairfield Arts Council, about the opportunity to have a nationally recognized band like Kicking Daisies perform a benefit concert on their behalf. “It’s great to see a local band giving back to their community.”
Milford, Connecticut-based Kicking Daisies have taken the country by storm this year, with Teen Magazine saying, “These rockers are under 17 years old but play the drums and guitar like they’re channeling classic rock bands like Led Zeppelin on stage.” The group has also appeared on Music Choice, the #1 Video On Demand network; were featured in Chuck E Cheese’s in-restaurant television, CEC TV; and were selected to be one of the key faces of Bazooka Candy Brands’ music-themed Web site, BabyBottlePop.com. The band has been covered by the local Los Angeles Fox TV station for a segment on their evening news program, and nationally syndicated with a performance on Fox TV’s Fearless Music. Kicking Daisies were also the youngest band booked at The Bamboozle festival at Meadowlands Sports Complex this summer, and the group’s high-profile concert appearances have also found them sharing stages with Damien Marley, pop star B.o.B., Hanson and more.
