Billboard’s Top New Artist Chart Toppers Currently on the Road in
Support of New Album Featuring Bruno Mars, Adam Levine & More
LOS ANGELES, CA — AUGUST 24, 2011 – Rising stars The Cab just released their highly anticipated sophomore effort, Symphony Soldier (Z Records), and the album is already garnering rave reviews from fans and critics alike. Debuting on iTunes’ Top 10 Charts yesterday as a featured “New and Noteworthy” release, Symphony Soldier hit #6 overall and was the #2 rock record in the U.S., while reaching #3 in Canada and #1 on the UK rock charts. The band enlisted in-demand producer John Feldmann (Panic! At the Disco, The Used, Good Charlotte) to helm the album, which also features Bruno Mars, Adam Levine of Maroon 5, Martin Johnson of Boys Like Girls, and more. Whisper War, the band’s previous release, debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Top New Artist Chart in April of 2008.
Rollingstone.com remarked that “The Cab’s high energy pop is radio ready.” Alternative Press gave Symphony Soldier a thunderous four-star review, while The Salt Lake Tribune called The Cab “one of the most unique rock bands out there.” The band’s hometown paper, The Las Vegas Review-Journal, raved that the album embodies “U2-esque guitars set against funky synth zaps and DeLeon’s doe-eyed, ever earnest delivery,” and AbsolutePunk.net simply stated that with Symphony Soldier, “The Cab reaches super stardom.” Respected outlet Musiqtone simply proclaimed that “Symphony Soldier is a must have in your music collection and is easily one of the best, if not THE BEST pop album 2011 has spawned thus far.”
Previously, Alternative Press featured the band on their cover and named them one of the magazine’s “100 Bands You Need to Know” in both 2008 and 2010. The album’s first single “Bad” is already making waves at both terrestrial radio and on Sirius XM Hits 1, and the track’s video – featuring TV personality Angel Porrino- is set to debut in September.
The Cab, featuring Alex DeLeon on vocals, Alex Marshall on guitars and keys, and Joey Thunder on bass, recently hit the road for nationwide dates -just the latest in the band’s constant touring schedule.

The Cab started out as students at Las Vegas’ Liberty High School in 2005, and developed a pop-punk and rock sensibility, combined with an R&B flavor. In the span of only a few months, the band found themselves inking a deal with Decaydance/Fueled by Ramen Records for their debut album. Produced by Matt Squire (Panic At The Disco, Boys Like Girls), Whisper War has since reached nearly 100,000 in sales. Hit track “I’ll Run” garnered over 300,000 plays on MySpace, “This City is Contagious” was featured on Season 4 of MTV’s The Hills, and “I’ll Run” was heard in the film The House Bunny. The band’s previous tours included outings with Fall Out Boy, Panic! At The Disco, Dashboard Confessional, Plain White T’s, Cobra Starship and many more, as well as a slot on the Warped Tour Main Stage in 2010.
