Rivers Cuomo and Chan Marshall will perform on their very own private island in the sun
The second annual Weezer Cruise will set sail on February 13, 2014 from Jacksonville, Florida and it’ll be carrying some very special stowaways. In addition to the floating festival’s titular headliner, the manifest is now set to include Cat Power, Toro y Moi, Workaholics‘ Adam Devine, DIIV, the Cribs, Irish power-poppers Ash, Palma Violets, Holy Fuck, Bleached, Caveman, the Orwells, Ozma, and the Relationship.
Weezer will perform three sets over the span of the excursion, which returns to port February 17 after stopping at Nassau and Freeport in the Bahamas. One of those shows will happen on “their own private island,” according to the announcement, and will include a set by Cat Power. Fans will also be treated to a Weezer Q&A, an “interactive Weezer Game Show,” and activities involving other artists as well.
Other amenities include 24-hour room service, Pilates sessions, two swimming pools, gourmet dining, mini golf, a casino, a hair and beauty salon, and duty-free shopping. Finally we understand what Chan Marshall meant when she said she was leaving America until our society lives up to the hope it promises. Who could compete with a luxe Carnival ship bobbing around in international waters?
Tickets starts at $599 per person. Take a trip through The Weezer Cruise 2014 Spotify playlist.
