Three for Three!

Iggy Azalea set a new record for single-week U.S. streams on Spotify with her smash hit, “Fancy,” and then did it again the following week, and yet again the week after that. For three consecutive weeks, “Fancy” set new single-week records on Spotify’s U.S. streaming service.

The Australian-born Def Jam rapper first set the new record the week ending 5/18 with a weekly streaming tally of 2.9 million for “Fancy.” The following week (week ending 5/25), she smashed her own record with “Fancy” being streamed 3.369 million times in the U.S., on Spotify, and then broke her record – again – with streams of “Fancy” the next week (week ending 6/1) hitting 3.398 million.

Additionally, in another first for Spotify, single week streams for a song exceeded 3 million for three consecutive weeks. Streams of “Fancy” for the week ending 6/8 were 3.3 million.

Speaking of three, for the third consecutive week, “Fancy” is the top-selling digital song in the country, according to data from Nielsen SoundScan. “Fancy” is the lead single from Iggy’s debut album for Def Jam Recordings, The New Classic.
