Cook composed and produced the 11-track One World, an aural journey showcasing the Paris-born, Toronto-raised artist’s cultured amalgamation of flamenco, jazz, gypsy, rumba, pop and classical guitar. And instead of exploring cul de sacs of music— he united them. “On this record, it’s not really about going someplace,” he says of the album, whose cover depicts a vast, ancient tree. “The idea is that there really is just one world. If you pull your focus back far enough, you start to see all music as being branches of the same tree. They’re all connected to the same trunk from way back.”

The album is rife with runs and riffs demonstrating his dazzlingly dexterity and features centuries-old instrumentation from all over the globe existing side-by-side with modern technology to create interesting beats and inventive sounds.  Cook places his guitar on One World amidst carefully-crafted instrumental beds and rhythmic loops, textured audioscapes, technological experimentation, mystic melodies, evocative harmonies and contemplative meditations to create a work that just may be the most experimental of his career.
